Historical Overview Section

320-260BC, covering the armies of the generals who tried to keep Alexander's empire together, but split it apart. Includes Antigonus, Eumenes and Demetrius - the ones with elephants in Eastern Successors.

Using the army in ADLG

  • Eastern Successors have more cavalry and LH generally
  • Macedonian Successors have more heavy infantry
  • Lysimachus is good for Thracians for uneven terrain
  • Pikemen are the strength of these armies, but remember than using them more than 6-wide is a problem in one command
  • Protecting them with good quality LF can be useful
  • Generally 6 pikemen is expensive, so you may end up with a small, skirmishing or sacrificial command to counterbalance the cost of teh Pikemen
