To help you make sense of the battle report, here are some pictures of the individual units and figures used in my army in this competition
These are 15mm figures from my Later Carthaginian army, of Hannibal in Italy
Corvus Belli Spanish skirmishers
Here they are from the rear. They are appearing today as LF, Undrilled, Javelin, Light Spear, Average quality in a 6-pak
These are Light Foot slingers, from QRF. In this list they were Superior LF, Sling in a 6-pak
I'm not desparately convinced by them as figures to be honest, but they have a range of poses and hats.
These are Essex Miniatures Carthaginian Spearmen, with LBMS shield transfers
One pose in this pack, they fight as Superior Armoured Offensive Spear
With more LBMS shield transfers, these chaps are more Carthaginian Veteran African Spearmen - the best troops in the army
Again from Essex, these guys are the same as those above. In total the army list has 3 6-paks of these, and they will usually be found at the pointy end of the battle plan as they are in theory as tough as old boots
Campanians equipped in the Roman Style - or Old Glory Roman Legions to be precise.
Armoured Impact foot they give a bit of extra poke to the infantry line, hopefully allowing it to dent any pikemen the Carthaginians might face. But they are Average, and so in a 4-pak they can be brittle
This is the other unit - with linen sleeves as opposed to the red sleeved unit. Otherwise exactly the same
Numidian Light Horse, Javelin and Light Spear - some fairly old and a little battle-damaged Old Glory and Essex figures mixed together
Not really able to cut it against LH with swords, the Numidians need to operate with the Carthaginian cavalry, or they may get cut down
This is one of the Carthaginian Generals - some infantry command figures from Xyston
More Xyston figures, infantry command and an elephant all on the same base.
Their Carthaginians are not in the "massive" Xyston style, and mix faiurly well with Essex standard height figures from other ranges
Hannibal - the famous leader, and brand ambassador for this website. A 28mm figure given away at Salute a few years ago, together with some Tin Soldier skirmishers
Spanish Infantry from Corvus Belli. Appearing as Drilled Medium Foot with Impact capability and swords.
Today these Spanish are appearing as Drilled Medium Foot with Impact capability and swords.
One base of the highly maneuverable 6-pak includes a Spanish officer on a horse - just because it looks cute.
And here is a horse's ass.
These are the Gallic Cavalry - Essex figures, mostly from their Gothic/Visigothic ranges
There are 2 4-paks of these in the army, and they are undrilled Cavalry with Light Spear and Sword, Armour and Superiority. Having 2 units like this is apparently an error, but the list checker missed it...
Two Corvus Belli Elephants
Average Elephants...as they all are!
