Guild and Arcanist Proxies for Malifaux
My Xmas 2014 painting sessions
The old metal version of the Performer and Mannequin pairing - a random eBay purchase, that's sat around for a while. The Performer crew will play very differently to the other crews so I can see myself getting it at some point in future, but I haven't worked out if it's viable to add just this pair to another crew as yet. The basing is the same as my other stuff, but for these I have added some tiny gears and other bits of engineering on the basis that the Mannequins (and Coryphee) are engineered. The gears came from an eBay seller who sells 25g pots of old watch parts to use in scrapbooking and crafts.
Here they are again, showing the watch parts more clearly
And now with a figure from Black Scorpions rather nice Cowboy ranges. Not sure who this lady might end up being be, but she looks like a bit of a boss...
And again, showing the gears. I may decide to give the gears a coat of Army Painter to dull them down a bit as they are a little "new" at the moment.
Another accidental foray into a new crew, as I picked these December Acolytes up for their "defeat armour and get rid of hard to kill" ability to add one or two to another more traditional Arcanist crew. They have been painted with layers of drybrushed progressively lighter grey. Possibly the wespons may get inked to dull them down as well. .
There is a third member of the December Acolytes, but he only is attached to the base by one foot, so I'm looking for a stone to put under his other foot right now
Two more Black Scorpion figures - they are a really good pairing, rather sinister and I am thinking of using them as Mr Tannen & Mr Graves - not because they look like the Malifaux models particularly, but I can imagine them with those names. They also remind me of the pair of enforcers in Nick Harkaways Angelmaker undercoated....
The Black Scorpion figures are well scaled as 32mm for matching Malifaux
A Black Scorpion Pirate Captain... obviously, "The Captain". The fluff says something about him possibly being on a boat at some point in the past, and with all of the other Pirate things on this website I couldn't resist adding him to the crew.
The Captain again.
This mobile tool box proxy has been seen before, but now it has been toned down with a layer of Army Painter tinted varnish.
A substitute piece for the Guild Hounds - I'n not convinced by this however I only really need one to go with my dead dogs in a Marcus crew to make a pack. Believe it or not, this is a 32mm American Football playing rat from Black Scorpion.
This is the same thing
Three more Black Scorpion figures, painted in similar trenchcoats to act as Guild Guard or riflemen.
And another three, as Arcanist Gunsmiths, or even a rather cheeky Papa Loco crew?
This solo figure has just robbed a bank or somewhere, as he has a bag of swag...
A rifleman in a long black coat.
This is a drone base and a scenery box - steam trunk in all but name. I don't have any of the rest of this crew so I'm not sure why I made it.... possibly I'll eBay it sometime.
The steam trunk again
Another cowboy type from Black Scorpion
A baby version of the Sasquatch I used for the Blessed of December. Possibly a proxy Wendigo?
